Sunday Funday!
I remember when I turned 16 my Aunt Cathi sent me 16 rules for becoming a young woman, one of those rules which I will never forget is; wear your favorite color everyday. I have stood by this rule. No matter if it was on my clothes or on my toes!
One of the first things the Mom told me about herself was that she loves the color purple- it is her absolute favorite. Right then and there I knew we had to go with a purple scheme for her makeup. For weddings you never want to go too bold or dramatic. Wedding days are supposed to be soft and beautiful and I do feel we achieved just that.
The stars of this look are:
- Natural Looking Lashes
- Water proof Doll Eye Mascara from NYX
- A Lancome color quad in purple tones for corner crease and highlights
- A Vanilla Shadow over entire lid
- A Shimmery Plum eye shadow used as eye liner
- And MAC's Angel Lipstick lined with Mac Boldly Bare liner
For the Brides Look:
- Demi Wispie Eyelashes. For this bride they added fullness, her natural eyelashes were just as long as the false ones (Lucky!)
- We stuck with water proof Doll Eye Mascara again because after all it is the big day and this mascara has proven it self to not budge because of the tears. I have even swam with it!
- For the lips we did same as Mom! MAC Angel but this time NYX Natural Lip liner more of a brown nude than a pink nude. It went better with the natural eye shadow palette we used.
- For the eyeshadows we used Kat Von D's True Romance Eye Shadow Palette-Saint. I am forever loving this shadow palette! If you don't own it- YOU SHOULD! You can do anything from day look to special event to going out look.
Extra Helpers Used in both Looks:
Nars: Albatross
Contour & Blush Palette from BH Cosmetics
10 Color Camouflage and Concealer Palette also from BH Cosmetic Co.

Meet Ronda!
As you already know my biological Mumma is a Mermaid. This is my Step Mum (to be!!!) Ronda, she is a former New England Patriots Cheerleader! How cool is that?! I have a mermaid Mom and a NFL Cheerleader Step Mom.
I love the old uniforms! |
Last night we had a little bonding time over a box of makeup ;) We went over how to contour, how to apply fake eyelashes and how to hide them! Doesn't she look gorgeous?
For Primers: MAC Prep+Prime
fortified skin enhancer- Neutralize (yellow) & Benefit Pore-fessional
For the rest of the face: Kat von d Lock it foundation (Shade 54)
Concealer- MAC Pro Longwear liquid concealer
Contour with MAC Blunt blush or any similar matte brown shade
Highlight with Nars- Albatross (of course)
Blush- MAC’s Peachy Keen
Brows- Sephora Waterproof brow retractable pencil in Natural Blond
Eyes- MAC eyeshadow in Vanilla or any similar neutral light shade at
least 2 shades lighter than your lid (put all over)
For corner and crease you can use MAC Corduroy or any similar matte or lightly
shimmered dark brown
For the lashes we used the fail-proof Demi Wispies
For top liner- MAC Penultimate eye liner in Rapid Black or Kat Von D’s
Liquid liner in Trooper
Lower liner I used Kat Von D’s Shade shifter eyeshadow in On the Road
with my liner brush
The Mascara we used is Lancôme- Hypnose
To highlight the cupids bow (to make lips appear larger) inter corner
of water line of her eye and just below her brow to emphasize her phenomenal
arch I used Benefit’s Highbrow pencil
For her lip liner we used MAC Lip Pencil in Have to Have it
Lipstick- MAC Angel
Lip Gloss- MAC Crème Sheen Glass in Boy Bait
To top it all off we misted Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray!

Mumma Mermaid
This is my Mumma Mermaid the originator of my mermaid and makeup obsession. This weekend I got to spend some quality time with her- which I normally don't get too much of. We had a great time and some great laughs (per usual) You only get 1 Mom, she might as well be your best friend. Keep her close & show her love! Every girl needs to be close to their Mother.
She let me do some crazy dramatic makeup on her. It's about time, because growing up she'd always do weird makeup to me. We had a blast playing with makeup again! This time I got to be the artist! We used my kit's Kat Von D foundation and Nars highlighter, but for the rest of contouring and eyes she had enough in her own makeup box to choose from. She even had some Ardell double ups which definitely gave her eyes this BOOM effect!
For her shadows we used a Victoria's Secret pallet she had and for her eye liner and mascara we used a smokey kit she had bought from Maybelline that includes Colossal Volume Express Mascara and Master Smoky Eye shadow pencil. On her brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ash Blonde. On her lips we went for a nude.
I love my Mumma Mermaid!

Mermaid Eyes
If you haven't tried this fun new trend yet this summer: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
Today I was pinspired to try something new. I have seen it in the summer beauty trends in magazines such as Glamour and Cosmo. I decided to whip out my bright teal almost minty eye liner and give it a go! I love love it! What I did was used a very pale matte nude (almost white) on my lid, used a taupe for my crease (not as dark as this picture) used my trooper felt tip liquid liner -WINGED IT (as always) applied a thick coat of mascara on my upper lashes only (unlike picture) and applied my bright eyeliner on my water line only. These steps created a dramatic effect. My hazel eyes really POP today and I love it. Try it! You'll be thankful you did :)

Rockabilly Vibes
This weekend I got to spend time with a dear old friend. We have a feeling she was born in the wrong era(era error). Chrissy's wardrobe and hair is very 50's inspired! She is known on the Internet as the hair queen and just recently started a hair flower clip business called Dolled Up Hair Flowers! You can see some of her collection here!
Originally we had a pinup photo shoot planned however the weather did not permit. We dolled her up anyways, headed out to see our friend Carole at her fabulous salon called The Beauty Lounge, and had some nice girlie time/chatty hour. All in all it was a successful Sunday afternoon.
