Sista Sista!

Whether you're the star of the show or running the show; wedding day is the time to shine bright!

For this bridal look:

I used Kat Von D's 'Saint' palette, Ardell 'Demi Wispies' cut in half and used as flares, mascara used was Maybelline Colossal Lashes Glam Black waterproof, and for the brow I used Lancome's Le Crayon Poudre in 'Taupe'. On the lips: Urban decay 24-h Lip in 'Liar' with MAC cream sheen lipglass in 'Boy Bait'
For contouring and blush I used BH cosmetics 'Contour & Blush Palette'

For the Maid of Honor below:

Lashes;I used Ardell Demi wispies (the full strip). For the brows I used Makeup Forever waterproof Aqua Brow in 'Ash', lid was a mix of diferent purples from my BH Cosmetics 88 color palette, and MAC Shroom for highlighting. Lips, contouring and mascara same as bride.

Last two finishing touches for each was MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade for that candlelit glow, and set it all with Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray.

Congratulations Melissa & Nick!

The Bridal Bunch!

HAPPY MONDAY!!! This past weekend was marvelous because it was kind of sort of a long one. My Friday was my typical Saturday and my Sunday was my Saturday but it was F-R-E-E FREE! Friday I had this fabulous bridal bunch! What a cool group of girls, for sure my kind of chicas! I already knew Toni from ages ago, I've met the bride, Jen, once (for her trial), and the others were newbies to me but it was pretty much like we already knew each other. We had laughs and fun! They had a super neat photographer too that got some creative shots that I can't wait to see. The photography company is called, Little Fang Photography. The photographer also has a side business called, My Best Friend is a Zombie. Really cool stuff! I got to work with a rad group of girls all morning. Then, Friday night I got started on my Halloween project! I can't wait to share! I had a great Friday, lots of fun, no complaints!

Saturday- it was errands all morning then MAC finally!!!! I've been so so busy all summer that I haven't gotten any time at the MAC counter. I had so much fun, I did 4 makeovers and then it was basically time to go home. I felt very welcome, part of the team,  & I loved all of the artists that I worked with. I'm so excited about this MAC adventure. After MAC I went to see my friends band, HIGH STICK that was playing right down the road!

ipsy

My Honest to Blog Opinion

So a co-worker and I decided to try ipsy this past month. My package came on Friday it was a shiny pink bubble wrap package, super cool looking I was very excited to open! Inside the package was this makeup bag
Cute right? Inside the makeup bag I found
This Starlooks Obsidian(black) Kohl Eye Pencil
It was okay, just a basic black pencil. I prefer Kat Von D, Urban Decay, or MAC over this.
This Elizabeth Mott It's So Big Volumizing Mascara. Again just okay. I like the brush shape, I'm very picky with mascara, & I still don't really have a favorite. If I HAD to choose I'd probably pick Lancome Hypnose Star or Hypnose Drama.
I received two packages of these
skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels which I loved! These were the best thing in the whole package. I totally will want more of these! The description reads, "After a long day, the skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels are the perfect solution. The eye patches are easy to apply to the delicate skin under your eyes to reduce wrinkles, restore the tone and firmness, and fight free radicals to prevent premature aging." These felt so good. They literally chill your skin! Amazing!
There was this NYX eyeshadow in Golden Poppy. I wore it today, I don't care for it much. I'd like it on a darker skinned woman, I will put it in my kit.
Lastly there was a Pouty Pop Crayon by POP. It says that it nourishes, treats, and adds that perfectly-plumped pop to lips. It also claims they are extra-nourishing & gently bounce onto lips creating a plumped & pillowy pout leaving them with luscious, long-lasting colour with a super-smooth texture. I don't see the big woop about them. They seem kind of cheap-o to be honest. I hate how negative this post seems but I'm just being brutally honest. Honesty is a good thing!

To conclude:

I didn't have the greatest experience with ipsy, however; 1. Its only $10 a month 2. It's fun to get a surprise in the mail & 3. You never know what you're going to get, I might be thrilled with next months bag, who knows? Also, I'm a bag hoarder, I have countless Victoria's Secret totes and I'm pumped on adding makeup bags to my collection. This came with a cute makeup bag perfect to throw in my purse. AND I loved the eye gels those made my night! This was not a loss by any means. It is just a "better luck next time!"
You can sign up for ipsy here you will then take a survey on your preferences. Based on your answer, they will send you products accordingly! Try it out, let me know what you think!

Nothin' but Love

A mega gigantic THANK YOU goes out to Amanda and family for having me be part of their special day! It was great working with all of you and it was fabulous to have a gigantic table to spread out my piles of makeup (Thank you Mary Jo!) They set me up on their deck it was like a private office ;) What a gorgeous day for a wedding, pure awesomeness. And what a loving happy family. Everyone was thrilled to see these two finally join in marriage! Family and friends alike it was a tight knit group and I love seeing that.
Here is a group shot of all the ladies I did makeup on, on Saturday, after they got their hair done!

What's in Your Kit?

This weekend I had all to myself & it was so refreshing!! It was my first weekend off in 3 months (it is wedding season!) My batteries are totally charged up now! I decided to take inventory and see what I needed to replenish, I also organized my kit a bit. This may seem like a bit much, but remember I am a makeup artist this isn't just for my personal use. Looking at it though, I do feel like a little girl in a candy store haha!
I counted out:
  • 14 Various brows (liner, powder, & gels)
  • 4 glitters (need more glitter!!)
  •  17 lip liners
  •  7primers (includes eyes and face/need more face)
  •  8 mascaras (never enough mascara)
  •  13 eyeliners
  •  17 lipsticks
  •  20 lip-glosses
  •  18 shades of concealer
  •  11 different types of skin illuminators
  •  11 shades of foundation (23 if you count my 12 airbrush mini pods which i rarely use b/c i love kat von d's foundation so much)
  •  5 setters (3powders 2sprays)
  •  3 bronzers (2matte 1 shimmer)
  •  9 shades of blush
  •  10 different eye shadow pallets
  •  Only 6 shadow singles (I'm more likely to purchase pallets with lots of color options
  •  41 different brushes
  •  42 misc. sets of lashes
  •  3 lash glues
Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collections complete? I've got blushes & brushes-a-plenty. I've got mattes & metallics galore. you want lipstick? I've got twenty! but who cares, no big deal, I want more! | Little mermaid ariel #girlproblems #loadsofmakeup #makeup
